Annual conferences organized by the Council for the United States and Italy, for Americans and Italians under the age of forty, who have distinguished themselves in various careers (e.g. business, government, academia, media) held alternatively in Italy and the US since 1984. On an increasing number of occasions participants from third countries have also been invited to join, their country of origin varying according to the topic discussed. The purposes of the Young Leaders Conferences are to allow participants to gain new perspectives on issues of relevance by exchanging and comparing knowledge and experience, and to create a network among emerging European and American leaders.

In follow-up to the Young Leaders Conferences, the Council organizes reunions and other activities for the participants of earlier sessions, both in Italy and the United States. These include social occasions combined with a talk and discussion with a speaker from the other country.

È il più antico e regolare programma di attività del Consiglio per le Relazioni fra Italia e Stati Uniti. Una o due volte l'anno, a partire dal 1984, esponenti selezionati provenienti dall'Italia e dagli USA, di età inferiore ai quaranta anni, distintisi nelle rispettive carriere (nei mondi industriale, finanziario, accademico, e politico, nonché dei media) si sono incontrati in diverse città italiane ed americane per discutere temi d'interesse e spesso di grande attualità per la classe dirigente in formazione. Sempre più di frequente sono stati invitati anche partecipanti provenienti da Paesi terzi, scelti in relazione al tema discusso. Lo scopo delle riunioni non è tanto di approfondire un argomento come in una conferenza di studio, quanto di muovere da esso per sviluppare la conoscenza reciproca. L'obiettivo del Programma è, infatti, quello di dare origine ad un rete di rapporti interpersonali.

Diverse riunioni ed attività sono state realizzate sia in Italia sia negli Stati Uniti a beneficio di ex partecipanti (gli "alumni") a conferenze Young Leaders. Queste riunioni hanno avuto normalmente luogo in occasione di eventi conviviali, accompagnati da un dibattito aperto da un oratore dell'altro Paese.
